Unilateral Nevoid Telangiectasia: Case report and literature review

Abstract

Unilateral nevoid telangiectasia (UNT) is a benign, rare dermatosis, which primarily involves the face and neck on the trigeminal and cervical dermatomes (third and fourth).

It is characterized by telangiectatic, unilateral vascular lesions of linear, segmental or metameric distribution. It may be congenital or acquired, such as in the case of physiological or pathological estrogen excess presented in puberty, pregnancy or chronic liver disease. Such condition is related to an increase of estrogen and progesterone receptors in the involved skin.

A 22-year-old male patient presents with dermatosis on the right thigh’s inner face, clinically and histologically compatible with UNT of rare localization.
