Abstract

Aplasia cutis congenita is a heterogeneous group of disorders in which larger or smaller areas have skin absence at birth. This process can be observed in isolation, or may be associated with other abnormalities.

We report three cases of uniquely located congenital skin aplasia on the scalp served at our center over the years; two cases with multiple injuries and another patient with a unique injury associated with the “hair collar sign.” Its clinical, dermatoscopic, ultrasound and histopathological characteristics are analyzed according to each case.
