Tiña Incógnita, reporte de un caso

Abstract

Tinea incognita is a dermatophytic infection whose clinical presentation is modified by treatment with topical or systemic corticosteroids. We report the case of a 7-year-old male patient who presented an alopecic hypochromic patch located in the left preauricular region of 4 months of evolution, treated with topical corticosteroids and manifesting himself as an atypical lesion of tinea unknown with a hypochromic characteristic. The definitive diagnosis of tinea incognita was established by the result of KOH and culture for Trichophyton tonsurans.
