Endocrinologic evaluation of acne

Abstract

Acne is one of the most frequent pathologies, and, most commonly, the only manifestation of an underlying condition. Its multifactorial etiology and demonstrated association with endocrine disorders, particularly hyperandrogenism, puts endocrinologic evaluation in the high-priority category. Not doing so may result on therapeutic failures and the missed diagnosis of systemic diseases.
