Abstract

Metformin is currently and for many years, the treatment of choice for millions of patients affected by type 2 diabetes mellitus. Approximately since 2010, several dermatological diseases such as hirsutism, hidrosadenitis suppurativa, acne and other processes are reported to be treated with this drug with promising results but also with undesirable side effects. We will make a small bibliographic review of the subject focusing especially on its dermatological uses.
